Trivia Question What was the 1st famous band in the rock era, which did not include a traditional bass player, to have a #1 hit record?

The Rascals...
...Groovin' (#1 - 1967) from left to right Dino Danelli - Drums Felix Caveliere - B3 Eddie Brigati - Vocals Gene Cornish - Guitar Through this time period, the band had no bass player. Felix played the bass parts using the B3's bass pedals. *name correction edit (Technically, I think they calling themselves The Rascals at this point.)
