Anyone heard of this woman and her band? I went to see them last night in The Hague, only because a friend of mine had an extra ticket. I had never heard of her, and only knew they were supposed to be sort of funky.

Anyway, they started out and at first I thought, "Ok. She sounds exactly like Meshell N'degeocello". Which she did. Her voice is almost identical, and if I closed my eyes, I would have thought it was her.

So the show goes on and what had started out as a mellow, funky groove, turned into a very heavy show. I mean, they rocked that place! VERY heavy guitar and bass, Kofy was an amazing front woman with energy to spare, and her band was awesome.

I always love bands that can both rock and funk, and this was a great example of that. Just a great show in all.
