Which Version Do You Prefer Of "If Loving You Is Wrong, I Don't Want To Be Right"

There have been so many artists that have recorded this song. For instance, Luther Ingram, Millie Jackson, Rod Stewart, Barbara Mandrell, etc. Which version is your favorite?

Mine is the Millie Jackson version. Especially the "rap" where she breaks it down and talks shit.

The Millie Jackson version is outrageous! lol

"you can think of alot of things to tell a nigga when you're by yourself"

whenever she re-makes a song, she usually adds her "rap",and taking it in a whole new direction.

"You see, you got a whole lot of women out there just like me, that will tell a man any thang he might want to hear. And you can think of a lot of things to tell a nigga when you're by yourself. So when my man comes in I'm right there to tell him all those sweet things I know his wife ain't told him over the holidays. When he comes in, I start laying it on him". lol

Luther Ingram's for sure. I think I mentioned this elsewhere in the forum, but I grew up listening to Barbara Mandrell's version. I knew not that it was a remake. And now, I can listen only to Ingram's!

Millie (the original "Ms. Jackson if you're nasty") is badass for sure.

But I have to agree with RipHer and Finess that Luther Ingram has the definitive version.

Check out the version that Rod Stewart did with his old group The Faces . It's on the box set that came out last year, and the cut was originally unreleased . Rod recorded this version a few years before he did it again on his solo album "Foot Loose and Fancy Free".

Even though he's almost a joke now, and kinda wastes his talent, Rod could kick some ass back in the day

"There's two sides to being in love with a married man. The good side is when you go to the laundry mat, you ain't gotta wash nobody's funky drawers but your own. You see I wanna keep my situation just like it is. When my man comes over, I set the clock so he can get up and go home to his wife on time. I don't want him to be late".
