Lenny Kravits

Is he the most over rated rock star of all time ?

All his songs sound the same !
All he can do is that 70's rock / Hendrix thing !
When he's interviewed he sounds like he's doing an impression of Prince !
The man doesn't have an original bone in his body !

I don't know why I started this thread.
There's no real point I'm trying to make.
I just fancied a bitch !

Well you know I do remember when he did that "Romeo Blue" thing....It doesn't matter he can't even come CLOSE to Prince with the guitar!!!

He may not be the MOST overrated, but I think he is overrated. I was just listening to his new song in the car today. Booooorring! Crying, buying, dying. Nice rhymes, dude.

I don't wanna hate on him cuz he is tryin' to be a "black" rocker and all.
Somehow his stuff just don't grab me.
It's funny cuz the babes I try to talk FUNKADELIC with like to bring him up.
So he's a definite chick-magnet.
You can go trollin' at his gigs for hookups.

I watch this board occasionally. I've been to many of Prince's concerts and they don't even compare to Lenny being onstage. Lenny is better. That's why Lenny isn't invited to the celebration. Lenny would knock Prince offstage. Prince doesn't want the competition. His ass is grass following organized religion. You guys would follow Prince if he became a satanist.

I agree that Prince is an excellant guitar-piano player...but his days are done. Soon or later, he's goign to be doing what Vanity 6 is doing, preaching and doing sermons like M.C. Hamma.

Face down.

This is kinda funny in a non-Prince related way. TRAMMPS '92 LK was onstage with PFUNK playing one of their stock numbers ("One NATION" or "MOTHERSHIP CONNECTION"). Word is Lenny hit one note through out the song. Seems he knew the lyrics , but not the changes. Most said he sounded great and played the hell out of that one note.

I love LK's drummer, CINDY BLACKMAN. Shes' hot (a fine drumemr too!). Plays a lot of fierce straight-ahead jazz too.

Lenny has played with Prince live, at least twice.
At a Prince concert in New York, he came on stage and played 'When You Were Mine', and I think he plays on the Rave 2000 DVD/Video.
So I really don't think Prince is scared of him !! smile
He's just a poor Prince rip off.
I think you've just been to the wrong concerts !?

I dig Lenny's music, especially 5 and Mama Said. Lenny plays multiple instruments very well, especially the Bass. He is very good musician, not a great one. Certainly not on the same level of Prince. Regarding Prince and Lenny in concert, check out the Rave 2000 (as someone else noted) I would then like to hear your comments regarding Lenny blowing Prince away.

I would not say that Lenny is overrated, but he is not a genius or on the same level as Prince.

Peace

I'm not a big Kravitz fan but I could go for him & Alicia Keyes doing an album together.
I think they could be another Marvin & Tammi.

there is alot of hype about lenny, i mean he is talented, but i think if he was ugly people wouldn't pay as much attention....but since he's got it going on...he's become attractive to the female crowd mostly.

i have his music and i do enjoy it, even his most recent cd i find good.....

peace & joy, kim--
