Give it up for Rick Astley! I don't know why so many took the piss out of him because of his looks. His msuic was fun and catchy. "never gonna give you up' was the jam! I guess he took himself out of the music industry after he blew up. aybe it was too overwhelming for him. is he the orional Clay Aiken?

He definitely had more soul than Clay Aiken. Plus, Rick sound and looked more manly than Clay Aiken hands down.

He did perfectly enjoyable, harmless 80's pop songs and he was cute. I liked him. I found him far less uptight than Clay Aiken. But I think Clay is a better singer. Listen to me on The House of Pop Culture podcast on itunes http://itunes.apple.com/u...d438631917

I remember the set list being: MJ "The Way You Make Me Feel" Tracy Chapman "Fast Car" Billy Joel "Uptown Girl" Natalie Cole "I Live For Your Love" Smokey Robinson "One Heartbeat" Paul Simon "Call Me Al" George Harrison "I Got My Mind Set On You" Rick Astley "Never Gonna Give YOu Up" George Michael "Faith" Susan Vega "Luca" I watched alot of VH-1 when I was a little kid. Ok, "Never Gonna Give You Up" was great, but the rest of his output ... urm ... Ah fuckit! Here goes: There are three sides to every story. My side, your side, and the truth. And no one is lying. Memories shared serve each one differently

I don't care what he looks like. His voice was amazing and that album with SAW was very good. I would like to get a collection of his. I know that he recently released a new album and I think it's made up of dance music, but obiviously more modern than SAW.

i agree with everything you've said accept for the part about clay having a better voice. are you serious? why? Just a matter of personal preference. I like Clay's voice better. But Rick had much better songs. Listen to me on The House of Pop Culture podcast on itunes http://itunes.apple.com/u...d438631917

Rick Astley. My favourite song by him is "The Love Has Gone"...if ya haven't heard it; you should. He had/has a great voice. Some songs better than others, but the guy can sing. There was a joke going around that he and Kylie were really the same person. If you slowed down the vocals on KYLIE's album or speed up his, you'd not be able to tell who's who.

The SAW productions sound so dated now. My god, it really hasn't stood the test of time at all.
