Now I see all the Janet threads, Mariah threads, MJ threads, the talented but overated Madonna, and all the I hate Usher threads; but no one mentions Faith. I think it's because she is not a POP artist or maybe to R&B for this site because no one ever talks about her arch rival Mary J.either. And Mary is a pretty big star as far as exposure goes.

I'm a Faith Evans fan. Faith vs. Mary J. Blige?? No contest. Faith wins hands down. Initially I didn't realy care about her either way. Trying to think which song it was that got me hooked... "You Used To Love Me" I think it was. "Keep The Faith" and "Faithfully" I feel were miserably overlooked.

Blige, and actually own most of her albums..but I never really understood why people want to hype her as some megastar or even Diva. Faith is more deserving of that than Mary J. BLaahhge.

And to add.... I saw an interview with Faith where she said she was a big MADONNA fan. Then she appeared on BET with a MADONNA ~"Music" t-shirt. The girl's got taste.

Yes, Mary explained this on VH1's Behind The Music. Mary stated that when it came time to do her 3rd album Puffy was too busy with other artist and she mentions Faith by name. Mary felt some competition with Faith. If you look @ the credits for Mary's, "My Life, " album. Faith Evans contributed to writing and singing background vocals on several of the tracks.

I think it's just your basic Cat fight between two ambitious women who do similar music and both had Puffy behind them. In addition, maybe there was some jealousy with Faith and Biggie getting a lot of attention @ the time when Mary was about to do her thrid album. It was obvious from the VH1 special that Mary wanted to be the focus.

Personally, I wish they would just kiss and makeup and be friends so they could collaborate togeteher.
