Yo, Mandrill plays some really groove based instrumental stuff, as well as some stuff with vocals. They're really hot, but unfortunately I can't think of any song titles off the top of my head. My buddy knows all their stuff, so I'll repost with some titles, but I know that he got a whole bunch of stuff off of Kazza, or whatever that site is.

You're probably thinking of their 1st one...

...Mandrill

This might be the most economical purchase...

...Fencewalk: The Anthology

All the hits...

Mandrill
Symphonic Revolution
Ape Is High
Git It All
Hang Loose
Fencewalk
Mango Meat
Positive Thing
Can You Get It
(Suzie Caesar)

...and more.

Many vibes that War later adopted.

I couldn't say much more that what was said here, this covers it all. A powerful group with heavy drums and bass, basically ALL MEAT, No FAT. We aren't going to get many bands like this anymore where their music is so full, deep and rich. Follow the avice here and get into them.

My jam is "Wind On Horseback" I think it's on one of the albums not on cd. I have the original album still. My cousin is Claude "Coffee" Cave...my parents used to take me to see them live all of the time. You know the 70's, music, herb, and so on and so on...

nod That's the one to get if you're just starting out.
This is a band that PFunk opened for live. So criminally underrated it's mind boggling. They convincingly switch gears on a dime.

Get some Mango Meat!
