Christopher Cross: Christopher Cross

so, how do you folks feel about this album? This is the kind of record that probably gets sneered at now (and even back then), but I always thought that, for soft rock, it was one of the best of its kind. Produced by Michael Omaritan, and featuring top flight musicians(including the ever-present Michael Mcdonald), I especially liked tracks like "Spinning" "The Light Is On" and "Minstrel Gigolo"--sure,"Sailing" got played to death, but I still like that one, too.

so how is this one viewed now? well-crafted pop or snooze-inducing, schmaltzy shit?

Pali, ...damn. This album is killing. Don't know what the hell happened to Chris Cross. But, I can hear "Sailing" 1,000 times and never get sick of it. Good album. Still have the lp from when I was a kid. Brings back memories. It was a different time then, wasn't it?

nod Hell, you can't go wrong with this album. My favorite cuts were Sailing and Ride Like The Wind.

i never had that album but he had some slow jams like "sailing". what ever happened to that dude? i don't think he could really make it in the industry now that everything is so superficial.

Back Of My Mind
Good songs: Swept Away, I Will (Take You Forever), Back of My Mind, Alibi & Just One Look

Window
Good songs: Wild Wild West, Wishing Well, Jan's Tune, Open Up My Window, Love Is Calling & Save Your Sadness (Jan's Tune-Remix)

Walking In Avalon
Good songs: In a Red Room, Hunger, I Know You Well & Rainy Day in Vancouver

He also has some more albums besides these.

I saw him about two years ago on television - he was playing a concert, which consisted of his greatest hits and some new material. He's actually a pretty decent guitar player, as he cut loose with some cool solos, especially during "Ride Like the Wind".

Sailing has a very beautiful melody. Yes, it is a classic.
