WTF? "Oh, This one's a gift." YEAH RIIIIIIIGHT!

redface
When you've purchased cds; what has been the oddest or most different styles of music that you've brought up to the cashier?
(i.e. buying something like the Best Of Hendrix and Chipmunks Greatest hits...or The Rolling Stones and Ancient Pygmy Love Sounds shrug just examples!!!) giggle Knowing damn well they were both for you, the cashier gives you a look like hmm wtf? Did you make up an excuse or try to explain the odd combination of 'musical' tastes? Or were you fortunate enough to have a child with you to blame it on? hmmm
And DON'T LIE...you know you've been there. nod lol

I masked my Justin Timberlake purchase by also buying NERD and another Neptunes-produced act: The Clipse. I've been listening to the Clipse alot actually and I'm glad I bought it but originally I bought it as a diversion. giggle Isn't that sick that I did that for the cashier?

I was super embarrassed at the time to buy Timberlake but now I'm all over it and won't be masking my next purchase.

This is a funny topic lol I do like interacting with the cashiers.. even though I've been a cashier myself before and I know after a while I sure didn't care about people's choices at all.

Lucky what I wrote just got erased about dissin Kanye, anyway I'd have 2 say me buyin "NO Strings Attatched" by N*Sync because I loved their re-make of "Just Got Paid" which in buyin the album I found out was samely produced by Teddy Riley respectively.
I bought it from this punk guy at Cheapo and he just looked at me like Im sum young fool. I didnt have internet or a home computer back in the 'buy your songs you want' days. Seem like buying CD Singles were "back in the day" now. lol Even tho that song was not a single
Straight Jacket Funk Affair
Album plays and love for vinyl records.

I remember buying these 5 CDs simultaneously...

Thrust - Herbie Hancock

Classic - Steve Winwood

Super Hits - Mountain

The Ultimate Collection - The Temptations

Super Hits - Toto

Now that I look at them it doesn't seem strange at all. confuse

I guess for someone with very narrow musical tastes it might.
If I had gotten the WTF look, i'd simply have returned it and been prepared to debate the salesperson into an ash heap. cooked

I am not afraid to buy my porn magazines. I worked in a bookstore and most customers that buy straight porn cover it up with something like the Cosmo.

They give the mags to you and you dcan the Cosmo, only to find the TEENAGE BUTT staring you in the face.

Gay porn customers are more proud of their tastes. My fave colleague and I often had conversations with gay customers that would go sumthing like;

Us; "Ooh, that is a nice cover!"

Customer; "And I haven't even seen the inside yet, I am keeping that for being alone."

The same with music. I am utterly unashamed to by an Abba album together with anything by Franz Ferdinand or The Arcade Fire.

I once purchased Leonard Cohen, Tori Amos and The Backstreet Boys at a Tower records. Yeah, I felt a little self-concious about it, but the sad, unwashed emo cliche's that work at my local tower would roll their eyes at most things any1 bought. So who cares?

When I was a little kid, around 8, that's when I really got into a lot of different types of music. Every Friday evening, my mom and I would get an album each. If she didn't see anything that she wanted, then I would get two. Anyway, my mom and myself would always bring two different genres of music up to the counter. My mom would have Ted Nugent and The Stylistics and I would have Donna Summer and ELO. This was standard for us. At first, I'm pretty sure the cashiers raised an eyebrow. But they soon got used to it. If anyting, they used to wonder why a kid (and a black kid) so young would be buying all of this FM rock.

deal I hereby issue the both of you this CEASE AND DESIST order to put and end to this vicious rumor.

Either you comply immediately or my people will contact your people and your people can contact my people and Kylie can contact me personally.

Then Kylie, myself and her evil twin will settle this thing privately.
Now that's what I call an amicable solution. nod

Agreed?

(hmmm They might need to put on a little weight though.)

Not true, yellow journalism no no no!

What she really said about tA was...

Floating on a cloud
Feeling high
It happens every time
Whenever I'm with my guy
Tripping on love
And it feels so good
I can't help myself
And I wouldn't if I could
`Cause he's got that certain touch
That I'm addicted to
Love's really got a hold on me
And there's nothing I can do

Oh I'm, I'm under the influence of love
And I know there's no doubt about it
I'm under the influence of love
And I know I can't live without it
