Alexander O'Neil - Criticize

Has this song already been discussed?

You'll have to excuse me but I just discovered it recently and love it to pieces.

A few questions....

1. Who is the featured female vocalist on the track?
2. Was the song a Pop or R&B hit?

and finally...

3. Can someone recommend me more songs like this??

1. Lisa Keith

2. US: 70 UK: 4

3. Look into Jam and Lewis work with Alexander O'N, The SOS Band, Janet Jackson, Cherelle.

I know it had to have been a bigger hit on R&B radio than #70 on Pop Charts only.

Like somebody else said, check out any of the stuff Jam & Lewis produced for SOS Band. It has a similar sound and is some of their best work. If you like that song of Alexander O'Neal's, try the album it came from, Hearsay, or better yet, his album All True Man. That one has some great tunes on it. It's more difficult to find on CD than is Hearsay, but you should enjoy either one.

Hey guys - Thanks for all the feedback! I've ordered Alexander's "Greatest Hits" (a 10 song collection) off BMG Music Service. Same with Cherelle and SOS Band.

I went to my local record stores and couldn't find any of their albums in the R&B section, therefore, I decided to search BMG Music and voila! Finally, a record club comes through...

PaisleyPark4 - That 4 Disc collections sounds just amazing! Where can I buy a copy?? smile

Lisa Keith doesn't have a greatest hits. She only released one album.

Not available commercially, and when you can find it, it's very expensive (typically $100 or more). It was a promo set released by EMI in 1996

Darn...I already ordered the 10 song 1995 Greatest Hits release. mad Oh well.

BTW, does anyone know what other work has Lisa Keith done with Jam & Lewis aside from "Criticize" and "Making Love In The Rain"?

I love this guy's voice. My favorie song is "If You Were Here Tonight", but the video for it is funny as hell. He wore make up, and did his best Prince impression.
