woot!

I'll get the Faith album because that one's my favorite from their early Post-Punk era. The rest are not really ones I favor too much. I only liked the singles spawned from it.

hmmm I wonder why they didn't include DVD footage on these re-issues.

Wow! eek I was going to buy Pornography this weekend, but now I think I'll hold off until April. How is Three Imaginary Boys in regards to the rest of their catalog? I'm really feeling Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me and Head on the Door right now.

Three Imaginary Boys is their first album. Very raw, almost pop-punk. Quite different than their more developed sound in "Head on the Door" and "Kiss Me". It sounds very much like a debut album.

That being said, I would definitely recommend it. Alot of classic Cure tracks, like "Boys Don't Cry", "Jumping Someone Else's Train", "1015 Saturday Night" and "Three Imaginary Boys". The sound of the re-issue is fantastic.

I don't even have computer access right now, but I'm so excited about this that I'm making my brother type a message for me. I'm literally out of breath and smiling ear to ear reading this news. There's no one that makes me excited like The Cure does, and I'll be counting down the days until these are in my hands. God bless you JonSnow for this wonderful news!

If they hadn't included Carnage Visors I'd be very upset. Not that it's my favorite or anything...but just for what it is. Not sure about it on Disc 1...but at least it's there...seperated out a bit. I'm a completist...what can I say.

I am still waiting for the Kiss Me re-issue that should be good. It'll be interesting to see how they do The Walk & Japanese WHispers ( I recall a double CD too.. that had people on it...like a crowd or something). And then the Top which will be a good reissue too.

I'm still mildly annoyed that "Killing An Arab" was deleted on the reissue. Maybe one day I'll get over it and buy the rerelease.

That's the one. The band used the original U.K. title.

Boys Don't Cry was actually a US-release compilation of singles and tracks from the Three Imaginary Boys album. The UK release Three Imaginary Boys did not include singles such as Killing an Arab, Boys Don't Cry and Jumping Someone Else's Train.

Yeah, what irks me is the singles "Boys Don't Cry" and "Jumping Someone Else's Train" made the second disc of extras, but not "Killing An Arab".

Yeah, me too. I'm thinking they probably have abandoned the song due to the title, which has been misconstrued over the years.

YAY!
But-
How can "Seventeen Seconds" be "remastered from the original master tapes"?
Those were destroyed years ago!

Is that why some of the older tracks were rerecorded for the 'Mixed Up' album?

that's a good question. i think some of the other masters were lost too, like some of the post-Pornography singles (The Walk, etc).

That's definately why "A Forest" was redone. Robert has discussed this in interviews before. He said their producer left the Master Tapes next to a washing machine and the magnetic field erased them.

Some folks at the chain of flowers forum have suggested that this was the Multitrack masters, and not the final two-track mixdown. Even if this is so, then how much "remastering" could really be done? You could re-eq and run noise reduction on a 2-track tape, but no real "remastering" ..... Hrmm. I'm confused...

The Black Sessions is a French radio program by a DJ whoms name I forgot. He is rather like the French Peel.

He always seems to be able to get the great bands/artists to play sets. I have sets of Franz Ferdinand and Rufus Wainwright.
