Without a doubt, Midnight Oil. Beds are Burning, Blue Sky Mine, Power and the Passion - all great tunes. Plus Peter Garrett has always scared the shit out of me, cuz he reminds me of the dude in The Hills Have Eyes. lol

I didn't list her for that very reason. But if I'm not going by the letter...she's my favorite. smile I sang many a ONJ song into my hairbrush as a child.

Olivia's definitely associated with Australia way more than she is the UK. She even developed the accent to match. lol

The Go-Betweens were the greatest band of the eighties IMO - tragically, they barely had enough of a following to qualify as a cult band.

The Triffids had a string of fairly classic Velvets-inspired pop records in the mid-eighties.

The Saints' '(I'm) Stranded' was one of the best songs to come out of the punk movement.

Well, it's gotta be Kylie Minogue hasn't it and AC/DC who rock like a skeleton in a biscuit barrel. The Vines were pretty cool, had some great songs but were overhyped and flopped. Anyone apart from them fucking jokers INXS.
