The Go-Betweens were the greatest band of the eighties IMO - tragically, they barely had enough of a following to qualify as a cult band.
The Triffids had a string of fairly classic Velvets-inspired pop records in the mid-eighties. The Saints' '(I'm) Stranded' was one of the best songs to come out of the punk movement. | |

Well, it's gotta be Kylie Minogue hasn't it and AC/DC who rock like a skeleton in a biscuit barrel. The Vines were pretty cool, had some great songs but were overhyped and flopped. Anyone apart from them fucking jokers INXS. | |
