Usher is suing J.Lo..nah 4 real..he is suing J. Lo

Usher Accuses J.Lo of Stealing Song

Usher has lashed out at R&B rival Jennifer Lopez for allegedly stealing a song he cast aside while recording the hugely successful album 'Confessions.'

The "Yeah!" star claims J.Lo's new single "Get Right" is a re-recorded version of "Ride," a song Usher co-wrote last year, which is only available on the internet.

The 26-year-old says, "I hate it, but I'd better get some of the publishing rights or else. I didn't put it on my album because I couldn't get it right. But I didn't expect J.Lo to just take it."

Producer Rich Harrison co-wrote the track with Usher and he decided to use it during recording sessions for J.Lo's upcoming album 'Rebirth,' lifting the horn section completely and re-using the same vocal pattern.

I'm not professing it's an original idea, but I fail to remember a video in recent memory that had the protagonists playing various roles. It's obvious someone saw "Breath" and said, "Hey Jenn, that's a cool idea".

But what happens when it's children fight! Some famlies....

I bet it's a case where Harrison wrote the music (from what I've heard is mostly made up of samples). It's going to be hard for Usher to claim he wrote a certain part of the song. Not only are people stealing songs, their stealing bad ones! The Clear Channel babies will destory themseleves (hopefully).

You're right that he doesn't appear to be suing (he probably has no real grounds since the co-writer worked on the track) HOWEVER you can't deny the Clear Channel thing. Check the site! It comes from a radio station. You're gettting a little bit jumpy over all the Clear Channel references but it's not like you can somehow defend their actions. Face it! Usher is out of the Clear Channel closet!

Yes, but you see, the story can be printed by different news sources and probably was stated differently. That being said, you haven't addressed your obession with avoiding Clear Channel. They own everything, including Usher, so once that romance ends....

Im downloading it from WinMX now and yes the whole entire drum beat and horn section was kept in J.Lo's version. The chorus is better on hers. It probably wouldve been a BAD idea for Usher to include this on Confessions cuz it is not a very good tune.

It's the sax solo from "Soul Power '74" by Maceo & The Macks.

By the way, Rich Harrison stole the "Crazy In Love" beat from someone else (who didn't press charges).. so this Usher story doesn't surprise me.

Doesn't any artist try to at least hired a real horn player anymore?

Or at least a keyboard player that can play horn parts?

Funny,J-Lo also got sued the last time around. That song she did with LL Cool J ("All I Have") borrowed a little too heavily from the 1981 Debra Laws hit "Very Special".

confuse you'd think by now,her people would have enough sense to clear any samples they use,and to give credit where it's due?

Ok Debra Lewis is one thing....but Usher's troll looking ass didn't create no horn sample....so what the fuck is he bitchin about. He probably co-wrote half a lyric to a song that wasn't put on his album, used the same horn from somebody elses previous work and now wants to claim that shit...musically I wish they would both go away...
