Well, Wilson was inspired by the Beatles, but they were also inspired by him. Sgt Pepper was highly influenced by Pet Sounds

I agree there is a definite Brian Wilson influence on this one. The thing about this that's cool though, is that The Beatles influence on this one is pretty different from the one on SOL. As Roland pointed out, SOL was influenced by the John Lennon Beatles tracks, while this one is more in line with the Paul songs.
