Rooty has got to be one of the worst albums I have ever purchased. Only Breakaway and that song from the tv commercials was worth the money. I'm still waiting for someone to top Discovery by Daft Punk.

eek

rooty is, like, a dance music BIBLE to me. to each their own, but i can't imagine someone considering it the "worst". wow!

The new Daft Punk album is terrible. It was leaked yesterday. I downloaded it yesterday. I listened to it yesterday. I deleted it yesterday.

The only tune which was just about bearable was called "Emotion". Everything else sounded like shit remixes of "Harder, Faster, Stronger, Better."

Really, really awful.

Uh-oh! I was afraid of that. It'd been so long since Discovery that I was afraid Daft Punk had run outta steam....

YAY! Can't wait to check this out. A show of there's I saw a few years back is still one of the best times I ever had at a live show and I've been to a million shows. smile

co-sign. That show made me feel like I was 16 again! In a good way biggrin

I saw them in Holland a couple of years ago, and I thought that the place was going to implode, the people were going so crazy. lol It was a really fun show. nod

Lol, it's alway silly how people claim to delete albums after one listen. Do you have that little disk space? lol
Personally, i always prefered Homework over Discovery. And i don't mind the new album at all. Actually Emotion is one of the lesser tracks to me. But i'll agree this is hardly ground-breaking material and not up to par with their previous work.

It isn't up to par with me playing auto-chord arpeggio with one finger on my baguette-sized Casio synth! In fact, that's what a lot of the tracks sound like.

Yes - I really did delete it after one listen.

Is everybody done telling me they can't imagine a different opinion, and that mine is "crazy talk"? I don't have to like Rooty, believe it or not. I will still think it sucks long after the last complaint of my dissent. As for Daft Punk's new album, I didn't mention it. I didn't know there was one, and I don't need to compare it to Rooty to know what I think of Rooty.

while i can't imagine someone loathing the album so much, don't dare misconstrue! eveyrone's certainly entitled to their opinion, contrary though it may be, and i'd never want anyone thinking that i expect their opinions to march in lockstep with my tastes and sensibilities. after all, if everyone were the same, the world would be a boring place and anyway, it's from these differences that we can sometimes look at something in an entirely different light. if someone likes the sound of a car door repeatedly slamming shut and considers it more artful than basement jaxx's "rooty", then i say bully for them!

i am in full support of you disliking rooty, even though i disagree with your assessment 110%. comfort

that said....CRAZY TALK!!!! wacky
