Food for thought

hmmm

What would you think about the legendary STAX label being resurrected with their focus on new Soul and R&B acts?

I think nobody would pay attention, sadly.

Nobody knows that Isaac Hayes arranged a song for Alicia Keys's debut album,,,,and nobody gives a flying fuck, obeviously.

I think for pride's sake, let the paste where its at.

i think it would work. right about now people are getting tired of corporate rap and manufactured beefs and club shit. lately i've been listening to the radio and i've been seeing a small but steady increments of refreshing soulful music that is original.

I don't think many people today pay attention to the label brand, if they fall into the corporate stamp crowd then it's all about the looks and sound. The name STAX will bring out the retro crowd hoping for something better than CC radio gruel, but the folks who would be behind the STAX name would have to have that extra amount of energy & dedication to look for worthy artist and shape the music to fit the label.
All in all it's wishful thinking, it sounds good but then you wake up.

I'd say give them a chance.
Based on the limited info i've heard, they're well aware of the STAX history.
If the initial new release is what I think it's gonna be, we all should be very pleasantly surprised. nod
