Tony Kanal is a great producer! He did her best songs on her solo effort. But He's done some other stuff besides Gwen's music. If you have the "50 First Dates" soundtrack he produced a ska-remake of Bryan Ferry's "Slave to Love." I bet he has more control on the next No Doubt record - it would be a smart thing.

Whether she stays solo or goes back to No Doubt, she would be smart to stick with Tony on a creative level.

Judging by the music I've heard from this album, only if she wants to make tuneless C-R-A-P. Not that I'm a big fan of No Doubt, but at least they have good pop instincts.

Pop instincts better with No Doubt? The solo record is much poppier (and better, in my book) as a whole than anything she did with No Doubt...her voice doesn't carry enough power to fuel a ska-rock band, but it's just right for electro pop. Why they're not hitting is beyond me.

Gwen's always said this is just a fun side project, and No Doubt is definitely not broken up.

I remember an interview in Blender magazine around the album's release when she said "This is the most unlike me I've ever been", so I don't think anyone should take this as a sign to expect Gwen to be solo forever.

On point, subby

Don't get it twisted y'all. Even if this had been an amazing success (which it wasn't, ok), she wasn't leaving the band.

Exactly.
