Do you think Gwen should stay solo?

I do! I think Gwen is a star and has the potential to go very far with or without her band. Most people don't care much about the rest of the members of NO Doubt anyway, though I give her major props for not ditching them. That really says something about her character. No Doubt are cool but I perfer Gwen's solo material. What do you guys think? Holla Back!

I dunno what it is i just cant take her serious as a solo artist.
She should get back with No Doubt sooner rather than later.
She's more credible ar a front woman of a band. NUFF SAID.

I agree...her solo shit to me seems too FLUFF...
I am not African. Africa is in me, but I cannot return.
I am not taína. Taíno is in me, but there is no way back.
I am not european. Europe lives in me, but I have no home there.

At the end of the day which ever way she goes (solo or back with N/D)
I cant see her making consideral difference to the music buiseness. To me
No Doubt are a DECENT band and from what i've heard from
her solo stuff simply puts her in a list of many.

You know I love this solo CD...

but everyone wants her to be with No Doubt, even if they are making similar dance music ("Hella Good", "It's My Life").

Guessing by sales (high debut, quick drop), I'm wondering if the label won't want her to stick with No Doubt. It's a good album, but to me, didn't sound all that different from No Doubt stuff. She even worked with Tony Kanal on a few tracks.

Personally, I don't really care for her as a solo artist. I hope her next project is a No Doubt CD.

i was thinking of picking up the no doubt greatest hits cd but i can't really stand hearing their earlier stuff like just a girl. that shit was so cheesy. their last album was pretty good. i hope if they get back together, they'll continue in that direction.

Gwen would be better suited solo, but she will miss her mateys, so probably not.

She NEEDS to get back with her band, NOW! Rocksteady was a really good record. She had to resort to 80's nostalgia and ripping off show tunes for that mess of a solo record. confused

I think she should stay (and she definately will) with No Doubt and release solo albums every so often if she feels the need again. There is definately a difference between No Doubt and Gwen Stefani, musically the band really contributes a lot (they're not just a backing band) and Gwen's lyrics are a lot more personal on No Doubt material, people who r only familiar with their singles may not realize that, wheras the Gwen Stefani record was intended just 2 be a fun dance record and collaborations with people she wanted 2 work with. Also the cd hasn't really dropped, after a #7 debut 2 months ago it was #16 this week and has sold 1.1 million copies 2 date.

She gets more attention with the boys than alone. I dont know if the jam with Eve is doing anyhting on the charts or not.

Anyway as much as i love tha album, I feel No Doubt is where she should stay.....now if she cum out with another 80's filled album I would still run for it nod

No, although from what I've heard, Gwen's solo album is good. She's such great band chick. I love her with No Doubt. Maybe she could still do a few solo cd's, too.

Absolutely not.
Let me be one of the few here to say her album was bad. I couldn't stand it. THere was 3 good songs at most, the rest was utter crap.

Her band used to do good work together. Gwen needs her band in order to write decent music. And the band needs Gwen for marketing purposes.

Personally, I'm not too keen on her solo cd. I think it's way to pop sounding and her videos are a joke. I would love to see her back with No Doubt. Being with the band gives her substance. Being solo makes her look like a pop princess with nothing on her mind but selling records.

yeah I agree with you on that...all of my friends that like her solo album I noticed are also big fans of Britney,Madonna,Janet,Beyonce...and all off this other poppy dance stuff...it's safe to say who she made this album for...and all these dancing bunnies are eating that shit up,which I guess it's cool if thats your thing...I just feel her better as a lead band chick, more credibility.

I agree. I like to see an actual BAND playing behind most performers. That's just what I tend to like. shrug

Gwen's always said this is just a fun side project, and No Doubt is definitely not broken up.

I remember an interview in Blender magazine around the album's release when she said "This is the most unlike me I've ever been", so I don't think anyone should take this as a sign to expect Gwen to be solo forever.

Seems more like she's acting musically-just unwinding a little.

Judging by the music I've heard from this album, only if she wants to make tuneless C-R-A-P. Not that I'm a big fan of No Doubt, but at least they have good pop instincts.

On point, subby

Don't get it twisted y'all. Even if this had been an amazing success (which it wasn't, ok), she wasn't leaving the band.
