From When/What Do You Mark the origin of "Funk-Rock"

I'm not sure exactly when the term was coined, but when do you think the hybrid of hard rock and funk was born? Would it be with Sly or not fully until Funkadelic? Or perhaps neither of those two are the absolute earliest examples. And as far as "landmark" or "definitive" funk rock tunes here are some of my picks:

I wanna take you higher-Sly
Red Hot Mama-Funkadelic
Superstition-Stevie Wonder
Power of Soul-Jimi Hendrix
Shining Star-Earth, wind and Fire
Funny Vibe-Living Colour
Computer Blue-Prince
Tommy the Cat-primus
The Jam-Graham Central Station

Probably a Bobby Brown album.

At least I think Whitney said that once.

Who knows?
