Cameo is definitely funky! "Shake Your Pants" always gets me riled up. I wanna see them live though. I can't say that I've seen them live before. confused

She's Strange - but mebbe you know that one. Candy is still one of the real blockbuster, "new" tunes I've ever heard. To top it all, Larry's a kickass drummer, too.

Larry Blackmon sooo funny. I loved how their videos were always tounge-in-cheek. When Iwas 6 I was fancinated with the Candy video. And the Back and Forth video was funny when the chick threw a suitcase at dude through the door.

Don't Be Lonely is my slow jam.

The title track is their most New Wave-flavored track.Other jams on this album include "Just Be Yourself" and "Flirt".

nod Yep. That's my favorite Cameo album right there. Soul Army is funky as hell too.

I ran a thread on Cameo a long time ago. One of my fave bands. For the period u mentioned, that would be 1980 "Cameosis", 1980 "Feel Me" 1981 "Knights Of The Sound Table" and the masterpiece "Alligator Woman" from 82. These albums are must. All of their albums since 77 are jams. "Cardiac Arrest" from 77, "We all know ho we are" from 78, "Ugly Ego" from 78 and "Secret Omen" from 79. These are more rock oriented, but jams nevertheless.

nod Hell Yeah BG. Cameo has always been one of the baddest funk bands out there hands down and are still funking well. I hope to see them live in concert and I also plan to collect some of their CD.

Most of Cameo's albums are out of print. I would recommend the Cameo Anthology 2-dics cd becuase it has songs from every album on it.

If you want something new wavy, I recommend "Alligator Woman" for the title track. "Just Be Yourself", "Soul Army", and "Flirt" are three great funk tracks all in a row.

Cameo has some great albums. I really like "Cameosis", "Feel Me", "Knights of the Sound Table", and "Alligator Woman". A real funky jam that a lot of people forget is "Style" from the album that followed "Alligator Woman". "Style" sounds a lot like "Just Be Yourself".

Actually, I've seen many Cameo albums (on CD) in Circuit City just last year. I don't know if they are still there though.

Totally unrelated...check out the cover of "Alligator Woman". I read somewhere that Vanity is the "Alligator Woman".

Yeah, I thought it was her. I pulled my album and there she was. I could have sworn that I saw Denise Matthews listed on the album but I didn't see it. I can't remember where the hell I read that.

I was gonna buy that compilation, but it only contains one track ("Style") that I don't already have. For some reason, that song seems to be missing from all of their other compilations.
