Eartha Kitt She's always struck me as interesting. Can anyone tell me about her and her music? What is it like?

No I can't. My dad has a 78 of her from the 50's though.....that track is quite weird.
I always think of Eddie Murphy's "boomerang" when I think of her..... .

I remember looking at dance/club/disco albums on Amazon and this one by Eartha Kitt apeared titled "The Best Of Eartha Kitt:Where is My Mine". I listened to most of the samples and it was interesting. It's said to be Hi-NRG but comes off more as slow but maybe it's the samples, many of the songs don't feel Hi-NRG (then again, consider her slow and sultry voice as well). I don't think this is typical of her music, which I think consists more of standards but you might want to take a look.

If you've ever heard an old time version of the song, Santa Baby, then you've heard Eartha Kitt. Most of her best stuff is from the 50s and 60s. Her voice became a little more distinctive later on. She also sings quite a bit in French if you like French music as I do. A greatest hits CD could probably wrap everything up but I'll add that she has a fascinating life story. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

BET on Jazz aired a concert of her about a year ago. I made it through one song. "You dont know the bluuuuueeeees." wow. Eartha was killing me. I mean, its really all love, but it was like "damn Eartha, you really are kinda scarey, huh?"

Possible but I wouldn't be surprised if she went club music just to pay some bills, since it would probably result in bigger sales than standards, which can be hit or miss sales wise.
