What Are Your Picks For the Funkiest Albums Ever? I'm not necessarily referring to the "best" funk albums, nor am I intending to represent the best albums by these particular artists, I'm talking about the sheer level of funk

dewdrops in the garden - deee-lite.
and i'd mention a talking heads album, but i couldn't narrow it down between 'fear of music', 'remain in light' and 'speaking in tongues'.

It came out in '76 on Island Records (in the UK anyway) & was made by Neville Brothers & The Meters under the Wild Tchoupitolas name. Serious serious new orleans funk that at stages is just soooo funky its ridiculous !!! I only came across it about 12 years ago as Robert Christgau made reference to it in his book 'Rock Albums Of The 70's'. He gave it an 'A' grade so I had high expectations for it & when I finally managed to locate the album it blew my head off ! I think its available on CD too but I havent got it on CD. yet. If you're gonna do a search for it you best check my spelling on it first ! The Funk, the whole funk & nothin' but the funk, ya dig?!
