Simon from "IDOL" defends Lip synching

Simon Cowell from American Idol made this comment in regards to Ashlee Simpson's lip synching blunders...

"Why should you have to do something substandard just for the sake of it being real? If it sounds better with the vocal you recorded, why shouldnt people listen to that? There's almost a witch hunt mentality about people miming."

If i never believe it before, I am CONVINCED that Simon is a J O K E!

I prefer this review of Ashlee's latest single:

Ashlee Simpson - 'La La'
(Monday January 17, 2005 5:20 PM )

Released on 24/01/05
Label: Polydor

She’s been ridiculed for miming on “Saturday Night Live” and booed at the Orange Bowl but, like a particularly enduring stain, Ashlee and sister Jessica just keep plugging away as desperate as hungry pigs hunting for truffles. There’s even an online petition doing the rounds, begging them give to up, but, alas, all to no avail.

Along with UK doppelganger (in spirit, if not in looks) Jade Goody, the Simpsons’ whole existence appears to centre on making the pursuit of dribbling idiocy a noble one. Admittedly, they do this very well, especially with soft rock offerings like this tribute to the "Teletubbies", the title of which says more than you’d ever need to know.

Suffice to say that anyone actually paying for this might have difficulty understanding words with any more syllables.
Painful.

The offensive thing about Ashlee is that her records aren't what I'd call bad, in fact they're quite good, but she's too phoney for words. She's ANYTHING but rock and it shows in her delivery. Despite her PR she's never sang live until that Radio Music Awards. Her TV show (you have to see this because it comes off as a parody and you can see MTV grinning from ear to ear behind the camera as she does yet another stupid thing) showed she can't sing. She couldn't find the pitch, ever. So her only value comes as a guilty pleasure for coach potatoes such as myself who can laugh theri asses off and see forsthand how anyone with the right backing can become a household name.

Which Ashlee records do you think are "quite good"? Just out of curiosity.

Sould I duck first? (LOL)

Well "Pieces Of Me" is pretty good. And "La La" has some kick. In "Pieces" that line, "I feel like I can finally rest my head on something real. I like the way that feels" is a good one you must admit.

The only reason Simon is defending these mimes is because he knows half if not most under his belt do it all the time.
