Yeah, so leave me alone and let me finish watching it razz I'll have more to say once this episode's over. I look forward to the badness. I've not bought any of the winner's albums, but I bought and really liked Tamyra Gray's album. She's a pretty good songwriter. Too bad its sales weren't so good.

Haha yeah but Paula's standing there going, "You did so good, guys! Group hug, group hug!" so it kind of nullifies him.

Like every other season, there are lots and lots and lots of delusional young queens who think memorizing the choreography in every Madonna, Janet and Paula video makes them qualified to say, "I'm going to be the next triple threat." Ugh. Some of these people need to be laughed at, but it gets pretty iffy when the person is obviously mentally ill in some way (like the last poor hopeful). Most of the time I find Simon amusing, but when he cuts people because of their body type, I get severely annoyed.

The "Purple Man" had me in stitches. Those horrible long notes and the looks on Randy, Paula and Simon's faces were priceless. They all kept glancing at their watches like, "How long has he held it?"

Yuck! confused
Simon's opinions are taken much more seriously.

All 3 of their roles are fairly well defined.
For the most part Simon tells it like it is, Paula's the softy and Randy's the swing vote.
The "celebrity" judge tends to muck things up as they don't want to come off too harsh.

There should really be a competition within a competition during this early section of the show called "America's Most Deluded".
The winner would get the William Hung Award. disbelief

It was a decent start- but 2 hours was TOO long. I got bored halfway thru and read a magazine while watching.

a few high (low) lights-0

"Toni Braxton's Cousin"- Girl was CLEARLY on drugs- my vote goes with Meth. Did you hear how fast he was chattering! And, how you gonna walk up to the judges at AI and say "I don't like people"?? I think you'd better PRETEND to like people if you wanna succeed on that show!

The 28 year-old mom. It was touching but CRAZY. I actually felt uncomfortable watching her. She pawned her wedding rings to make the trip to the audition? I think these reality shows really give people some false hopes. Hopefully she'll improve and succeed a bit. If not, she gave up a lot for 5 minutes on tv. disbelief

"Hanky Panky" lol I can't believe someone chose to do THAT song for an audition! Didn't sound much worse than Madonna though smile

"The Rocker"-that shiaaat with his band was SO STAGED. Shit, they could barely keep a straight face. Anywho- his band shouldn't worry. Unless he improves quickly from his wailing last nite, he'll be gone soon enough.

uhm yes the wife and the wedding ring was a bit much...even though she didn't sound all that bad she is hardly pop material...maybe like a smooth jazz vocalist or something like that would suit her....and then that Purple Mess I was like please can somebody get Grimace and Barney's LovechildOFF the screen please!!!!!

my favorite was the trailer park chic with the sleeveless black pebbles flinstone dress on, arms allscrtached up (with all that genuine silver-plated 1987 jewlery on)..."some of these girls don't know how to dress classy!"...and Simon told her she look like she ran through some bushes lol

Not that trainwrecks are fun, but when it comes to that show, that's how I see it. It's a trip when psycho girl said that she was told by friends and strangers that she could sing. She was really scary. I didn't think she was gonna attack anybody but I was expecting something really bad to happen, maybe it was the background sound effects. The show could definitely could be condensed to an hour. Just cuz you think you can hold a note or twitch your face with emotion does not mean you can sing. I know I can't sing, so I can talk. razz

I saw a little bit of it on tv last night at a gig I was playing. I didnt even know they were starting up again. I think they really ought to can this show because it seems like it's just getting to be about the insults and the people who really suck. There dont' seem to be any genuinely talented people on the show.

CynicKill

I got home some time after 9:00, saw the last 10 minutes with this girl that truly had mental problems (or is one hell of an actress), chalked it up to another year of American Idol exploiting the defenseless and will leave it at that.
