Soundtracks that surprised you...

U ever bought a soundtrack cheap that u thought would be all crap but actually some of the songs, or maybe even only 1 track, is really good? This has happened to me more then a couple of times over the years.

here are a few of the more obscure ones that I think have some decent tracks.

U got any of those? Please holla back if u know any of them biggrin .....

Plus u reccomend any obsure(ish) soundtracks maybe if it's only 4 just one song?

i got that album. I ain't heard it in years though. The great track is the briliant "that body" by some group called cold premiere.

"that body" is actually in the movie "class act", they are the newjack group at the party!

The kid n play song is good too. Thanx to it being remixed by Marley Marl.

I'll have to hear it again. Thanx CinisterCee

Well, I knew it wouldn't be "crap" because I saw the movie, but I'm surprised how much I liked it. And also how much I play it. I listen to this all the time. Especially in the summer. It's a great summertime soundtrack. nod

My fav is the ludicrous "tick, tick bang!".....I love that track!

"e and p" is cool though. Sorta sounds like prince's "electric chair": spirtual version.

The clip from the movie gets stuck in my head.....what is that dancing? Choreographer should be ashamed of himself.biggrin

Anyway, i forgot

if only for "supernatural" by New edition (one of there best I reckon) and the highlt crazed "we're back" by Bobby Brown.....plus of course "on our own" but I knew that one anyway.

Oh yeah, and the killer, but obscure RUN DMC version of the theme to "ghostbusters". That is superb

I'm sure I'll think of more.....I love soundtracks.

Great Topic! Unfortunately, I seem to remember all of the soundtracks that were supposed to be good (over-hyped) and totally sucked.

1. Brown Sugar (the most recent dissapointment)
2. Who's The Man (Ed Lover and Dr.Dre)
3. Grafitti Bridge (i liked two songs, maybe three - Tevin, and the two Prince songs)

Well, those three come 2 mind. I don't mess with soundtracks anymore. It's always the same formula. We will put the hottest names in the industry on this record but give you the songs that didn't make it on their albums. Another words, Soundtracks generally consists of album filler tracks. The tracks U skip, LOL.

I remember the film "who's the man". kinda average if I remember? Don't remember the soundtrack but I always see it in a second hand store. So not worth getting then?

Good to c u like the Tevin track on "gb".....I love that track biggrin
