Janet - The Knowledge Janet - Living In A World (They Didn't Make) I love them 2 in particular off that album, with "state of the world" too. First half I always here all the way through. Funny how the video version of "rhythm nation" is quite different to the album version. I love "the knowledge". Sooo funky and "living in a world" has a very pretty chorus that's it's hard to bash the typical socially conscious lyrics. I like the sentiment though.

Rhythm Nation 1814 was just an awesome, awesome record. 1814 was my fav janet album by miles. I still watch the mini film and making of the video sometimes. I love the black and white vibe of the mini movie. Like when the kid gets shot and the opera music starts playing and its raining and shit. Great stuff. I wish it was a full lenth movie. "NOOOOO" (BANG BANG) Diamond (or pearl) is one of the dancers right? I never knew..... "miss u nuch" got some nice dancing. As does "1814" of course. Amazing mainly because there were no edits in the video (not till the end anyway) and to dance 4 that long is incredible. The dancing was so unique to watch too. In what was an age of edit dance move here, another move there (like MC Hammer videos I'll admit), Janet did the oppposite editing wise and is still bloody great to watch. The knowledge dance sequence alwys reminds me of Michaels "back or white" end dance scene. Of course, Janets random smashing came first The making of is really in depth too (unlike the janet. video collection which was too short on the making ofs).....good story. They rehearsed that baby all day and night. The chair sequence at the end of "miss u much" took ages as u see in the video. Funny stuff.....
