James Brown discs

Hey does anyone have or recommend a good James Brown Anthology album? I've been looking all around for some good ones at reasonable prices. My last resort is Amazon.com. Please help me out.
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Is what I wanted to say.

Star Time is a box containing four cd's in chronological order. All remastered. I know Prince has it. I know he loves Devil's Den. And it has the longest version of Mother Popcorn ever officially released.

As a plus you get Alan Leeds's liner notes, that I think got a Grammy. Alan is of course, Eric's brother and Prince's former tour manager.

I can't believe Harlepolis did not know of it's excistance. (fuck the spelling)

Star Time is AMAZING! I got it when it came out, around the same time Aretha Franklin's Atlantic Years box came out. What a joy!

I solely got Star Time to get my hands on that long version of Mother Popcorn. The biggest surprise was to find out I liked the OLD James Brown way better than the 80's JB that I knew before I got this box.

The first disc is GOLD!

I sat down and listened to all of those CDs when they were CDzLimited, and immediately went out and bought it. It's quite a collection. Hell, my parents were begging me to listen to it...

Thumparello

If you see the names Bootsy, Catfish Collins, Maceo, Fred Wesley, Clyde Stubblefield, Kash ---BUY IT!

If they on the same lp with JB it is the bomb.

When it comes to artists with huge catalogs like ReRe and brotha James, I normaly have couple of albums from them rather than their compilations and even If I got some compilations by them, they're not that exclusive.

The only 2 huge cataloged artists that I devoted time to get their stuff are Billie Holiday & Chaka Khan. Compilations aaaand albums.

If cash is a issue, go with the 2cd 50th anniversary set.Even though it's missing the haunting "King Heroin".(Brilliant song!)Get Star Time at a later date cause it's a funky set. cool

What is it, Brotha James?

This is the ONLY pic I've seen from him without a smile or a smirk on his face.
