Dark Magus or Live Evil? I've been listening 2 Miles Davis' music for 3 years now and I have bought throughout those 3 years 5 of his albums: The Complete Bitches Brew Box Set, Kind Of Blue, In A Silent Way, Nefertiti, and Big Fun. I have been listening 2 Bitches Brew thousands of times, and I really do like it. It's a very deep and druggy album. I just want to dig a little deeper into his electric period and people have said that his fusion live albums, Dark Magus and Live Evil are probably the most dark and scariest albums Miles ever recorded. So, I do find them very interesting. What do you think the best album is? [Edited 1/17/05 11:57am] Check me out and add me on:

I'd say "Dark Magus" is the scariest album he did.
Oh yeah, that & "Get up with it". But I myself prefer the funk on "Live evil". I just can't believe the fat sound on that 1. /peace Manki

Consider Dark Magus for the fact that it represents one live concert.
It sounds as if many these jams are for the most part being composed from the ground up onstage. Definitely not sounds for the timid. An aural acid-trip. The antithesis of "Snooze jazz". If dark is your pleasure, this one will surely send you scrambling for a flashlight. As manki indicated, Live/Evil is tres funky and the horn sounds alone are worth it. [Edited 1/17/05 11:57am] I'd say get both, but if you're looking for the ultimate creepy heartbreaker, "Live Evil" has "Little Church" on it. There are three sides to every story. My side, your side, and the truth. And no one is lying. Memories shared serve each one differently
