bjork on the cover of Bust!

So I get home from work today to find Bjork looking all gorgeous peering out of my mailbox! woot!
My fave female rock star in my fave magazine. What could be better? Looks like a full interview too, I'll let you know more once I settle down to peruse it. Yay!

Alright, the interview is so-so. neutral I'm actually not happy with the end of it. Bjork seems to get a little bitchy and apparently doesn't agree with feminism, or at least what she perceives it to be. Which is so weird.

But the pics are divine! biggrin

Bjork, bitchy? That never happens...unless you're a reporter at an airport. lol How does she not agree with feminism?

When asked if she's a feminist she says no and when asked why not she says she thinks it would isolate her, that it's more important to be asking than to be complaining and when asked if she equates feminism with complaining she says "A lot, yes." It goes on, but doesn't get much better and that's pretty much the gist of it.

Ah. Yeah, I think she (like many others) just doesn't understand feminism. If it weren't for the complainers nothing would have been accomplished.

Interesting.

I'm curious though if they language gap is part of the issue here. Maybe she interprets feminism in a negative way?

You should bring the mag over tonite, Carrie!

I like the fact that she's not to big on feminism. Why should she be
anyway, just because she's a woman of this day and age?

A lot of nonsense has been boxed in under the moniker of Feminism
and as she abtly says, a lot of it is indeed just complaining.

Just giving you what you asked for lol Kidding...but honestly, I can see what you are implying. However, that doesn't mean that as a whole, feminism is a bad thing. Women - at least in the USA - wouldn't be where they are right now if it weren't for the feminist advocates. I'm not saying there isn't a lot of room for improvement, but things have gotten better because of it.

If rockstar means being a sad individual, then no. Bjork is different and that makes her of interstellar beauty. She is a Rock SuperNova.
