I love how she flips Let's Wait Awhile: "You know I promised I'd be worth the wait"... Best of all, no ridiclious 'sexy' lyrics, the moaning isn't porno-heavy, and this is the first time we were introduced to the rainstorm (it pops up on every cd from here on out, though). As far as I'm concerned, this is Janet's sexiest tune. Hot, hot, hot. Especially the end. Those fingersnaps, the chord progression, the buildup. It's all so good. Not too overboard, but just tempting enough. A great follow-up to Let's Wait Awhile and a great way to end 1814.

The 1814 album is the shit! Great choice. I always felt that this song was the answer to "Let's Wait Awhile." When I listen to "Funny How Time Flies (When You're Having Fun)," I think of the same guy Janet's talking to in LWA. She's telling him, "stop... stop. I really have to go... I really have to." Janet's love ballads during the Control and RN1814 had an irresistible sensuality. She managed to mix an innate innocence with a provocative air without being crass. I love her voice and the way she moaned in the tracks. It felt real and most of all... beautiful. Well, sequentially, the first time Janet introduced the now-incessant "stormy rain" sound effects to her albums was towards the end of "Black Cat" (the album version). Anyway, the real rainstorm was actually introduced by "Lonely" right after "Black Cat" went off... Lonely, Come Back 2 Me and Someday is Tonight are probably one of my favorite "suites" ever. #1 going to SOS Band for their beach waves through "No Ones Gonna Love You" "Weekend Girl" and "Just The Way U Like It" 
But yes, Someday is Tonight is a very subdued steamy ass track!!! Straight Jacket Funk Affair
