As long as its better than Voodoo, I'll be happy. My idea of hell is to have bad albums by great artists played for all of eternity ("that was Voodoo by D'angelo! Up next, we have New Power Soul by Prince!"). D is too talented to not deliver us a great album. Personally, I think his best work has yet to have been created (at least, I'm hoping so). Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. (Ecclesiastes 7:9)

What the hell? Maybe it's cuz I'm loopy on cold medicine, but is ?uestlove making any sense here? Lower your expectations -- it's going to be great. Shit is epic -- needs to be trimmed. Don't cater to idiots -- better do those crunches for the video. Make up yr mind already!

You're mean there were some good tracks on Common's album. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"like water for chocolate" was, although somewhat too long imho, a great record. and has the best album opener in hiphop imho ("time travelin", "heat", "cold blooded"). don't need no reefer, don't need cocaine
purple music does the same to my brain i'm high, so high

Ah I aint mad really. But I reckon you should at least check the duets with Jill Scott & Omar on that album. They are top soul cuts. The Jill Scott track ('I Am Music') is one of the best songs of the past 5 years. I'm sure Purpleone will vouch for that. The Funk, the whole funk & nothin' but the funk, ya dig?!
