I bought her debut and 2nd album I still can't 4give myself for that messy mess Lopez's entire movie carreer can be expressed in two movies, her musical carreer in one song. The song is Play. Don't bother with thte rest.

R Kelly's '12 Play'.
Both equally machoistic and soppy in equal measure. I chucked it out of the window the other day. [Edited 1/15/05 3:03am]

For me it would be any extreme metal album (e.g: Burzum, Mayhem, Carcass, Today Is The Day and plenty of other underground acts of this genre that I understand not many people on here would of heard of!!) now currently residing in my loft!!. I started going off that kind of stuff when my testosterone levels began to drop!! . The same goes for the Manic Street Preachers albums I used to own prior to that phase (but I managed to get rid of them in the end!).

So true. I bought Jennifer Lopez' JLO album because I wanted Play and couldn't find a single. And the rest of the album sure is gawdawfully horrible. FREE THE 29 MAY 1993 COME CONFIGURATION!

Neo Soul artists who don't deliver
N'Dambi - Little Lost Girls (Erykah's backup singer--she's just moaning and groaning...forgetable...) Glenn Lewis (only like "don't you forget it", the rest of the songs are forgetable as well) Macy Gray - On How Life Is (gave into the hype, now i truly realize this chick CANNOT sing...no matter how hard the media tries to convence me of this D'Angelo-Voodoo (just about every lyric on this CD is beyond comprehension...thank god for liner notes) (Joss Stone's first one may be added to this list in a few months...) and also... Apache-Gangsta Bitch (don't ask...) Jon B.-Pleasures U Like (this has got to be the cleanest, most scratch-free CD in my collection Tricky (tried to get into something different, but it wasn't for me) Luscious Jackson (yawn...) Isn't that her new one I'm a little confused...if U didn't buy her previous albums (like her debut) why would U buy her latest knowing that she cannot sing and she gets no love on this message board? Was it the first single, "Only U, " that prompted U 2 noy it?

The albums of Sinead O'Connor and Nick Kamen from 1990 (both so bad that I can't even remember the titles - just good first singles)
Lenny Kravitz - Are you gonna go my way I loved "Mama said" (1991) and couldn't wait to get Lenny's new one in 1993, and then... one really good song (title track), one pretty good song (Believe), but the rest??? Did he write that uninspired boring pseudo-ballad crap because he needed some background music for shagging? One of the biggest disappointments ever - compared to that package full of Simon and Garfunkel-soundalike shit, Newpower Soul is like a second Sign 'O' the Times!!! I have never forgiven Lenny that record!

Michael Jackson ~ "Invinsible" Well it was $5.00 brand new. So it was worth the two good songs I guess.

I liked his Guy clone uptempo's he did like "shes got that vibe" etc.....but whilst Jodeci did great on their secnd album, R Kelly went virtually know where. Is "bump and grind" on here, I do love that song.....

Not to derail this thread, but IMO, 12 Play and the follow-up, R. Kelly are the best albums he ever released. He's been rehashing himself ever since.
I wasn't a big fan of R. Kelly's first album; he sounded too much like an imitator. Fortunately for him, by the time he released 12 Play he had found his own style.

I'm a newjack still at heart which is why I love "born into the 90's". The title says it all. It's a shame he gave up on the uptempo's.....newjack came and passed but he still coulda tried with new sounds? But nope we get mid tempo after mid tempo after mid tempo. Not all his later songs r bad though.
