Positive Song Request - Please!

My friend was just diagnosed with leukemia. I want to pray for her, be there for her, etc. Also, I was thiking of burning her a CD of nothing but positive tunes:

I Won't Back Down - Tom Petty
Positivity - Prince
Wishful Thinking - Wilco

Please help me come up with some more. I really appreciate it!!!!!

"Live" by Lenny Kravitz!!!
When the sunlight strikes raindrops in the air, they act as a prism and form a rainbow. The rainbow is a division of white light into many beautiful colors. Regardless of the day, I'm glad you were born.

Hiya! Sorry to hear about this curveball life has thrown you..

I compile CD's for a living, would you believe, for background music for restaurants etc.

I did a CD last summer for a bar who wanted positive, "outdoors in the sun with a cold beer" music. Here's what was on it, may be a few good ones for you:

1. Boo Radleys - Wake Up Boo
2. Dodgy - Good Enough
3. Bill Withers - Lovely Day
4. Commodores - Easy
5. Johnny Nash - I Can See Clearly Now
6. Finley Quaye - Even After All
7. U2 - Beautiful Day
8. Stereophonics - Have A Nice Day
9. Sundays - Summertime
10. Zoe - Sunshine On A Rainy Day
11. Katrina & Waves - Walking On Sunshine
12. Bob Marley - Sun Is Shining
13. Shanice - I Love Your Smile
14. KC & Sunshine Band - That's The Way I Like It
15. Sheryl Crow - All I Wanna Do
16. Bobby McFerrin - Don't Worry Be Happy

Plus there's things like
Let's Face The Music And Dance (Nat King Cole)
Moving On Up - M People ("nothing can stop me")
I Will Survive - maybe a little too literal, but a very strong, personal "you can do anything you wanna do, don't let anything stpo you" kinda song.
Paid My Dues - Anastacia (and a good role model too, she beat cancer to come back fighting) Good lyrics like "you can't stop me now".
James Brown - I Feel Good

It's hard sometimes to find purely positive music. Your recommendations are great. And I forgot one more:

Chumbawamba- Tubthumping

We’ll be singing
When we’re winning
We’ll be singing

I get knocked down
But I get up again
You’re never going to
Keep me down

Pissing the night away
Pissing the night away

He drinks a whisky drink
He drinks a vodka drink
He drinks a lager drink
He drinks a cider drink
He sings the songs that
Remind him
Of the good times
He sings the songs that
Remind him
Of the better times:

Oh danny boy
Danny boy
Danny boy...

I get knocked down
But I get up again
You’re never going to
Keep me down

Pissing the night away
Pissing the night away

He drinks a whisky drink
He drinks a vodka drink
He drinks a lager drink
He drinks a cider drink
He sings the songs that
Remind him
Of the good times
He sings the songs that
Remind him
Of the better times:

Don’t cry for me
Next door neighbour...

I get knocked down
But I get up again
You’re never going to
Keep me down

We’ll be singing
When we’re winning
We’ll be singing

on year at gay pride im walking with a bunch of friends towards sf city hall to see some performances.....it was so loud that we couldnt hear a thing...then all of a sudden my mouth dropped and we all stopped to see six lesbian nuns with guitars singing this song.....as if it was a holy hyme...

oye!! i have never....i cant type this story justice...you had to have heard what was coming out of their mouths....the flames..the flames..sides of my head..

These are all great. Just great! Several of these songs I own, yet didn't think of - so this is fabulous! I will download a lot of the others as well. It would have been impossible for me to come up with such a plethora of positive tunes had it not been for your help. Thank you very, very much.

(And for the record - I love Madeline Kahn!)

Thanks again!!!
