I bought that one too... pretty good. That is an amazing soundtrack, and I'm glad Grammy gave it some props. Bluegrass and roots music is all too overlooked, but it's been getting a lot of attention in recent years.

I also didn't think I'd buy any country records, but I do have the O Brother, Where Art Thou? soundtrack. Finally, I didn't care for Prince growing up. I thought he looked like a freak. "iiiii am the maaaan of constant sorrooooowww...." I got together with some dudes and we played a rocked out version of that tune. That was an experience .

My family was a little surprised when they found out I like classic country like Patsy Cline, Tammy Wynette and Dolly Parton.

People who like to judge me based on my quiet, thoughtful and studious personality always completely misguess my taste in music which ranges from AC/DC to Shostakovich to the Ramones to Tori Amos to Prince to Ernst Bloch to Billie Holiday to Paganini etc etc etc
However, for me personally, I am most puzzled by my recent fixation with Madonna. Not quite sure what's going on with that.

Who would have ever thought that I would be searching record stores looking for a Dolly Parton song?! RipHer2Shreds mentioned a song I remember well that Dolly did called "Baby I'm Burnin" and it's been on my mind ever since. You should see me in the record stores in the country section, looking over my shoulder to make sure no one I know sees me. I haven't had any luck finding it either. I guess I'm going to have to check the used record stores. Andy is a four letter word.

I haven't seen it anywhere. If I knew the name of the album, I might could get the record store to order it for me. I remember really enjoying that song back in the day. I'd love to play it at parties with other disco songs and shock people when I tell them it's Dolly. Another one I like is "Two Doors Down". Andy is a four letter word.

Not an unlikely artist to dig but Nick Cave is pretty unique in my collection.
