Also,some guy who named "PyroJohn" claims that he toured with Rick back in the day,and he's posting his crazy backstage groupie tales...lol...he's done about a hundred posts by now.Some interesting tales!

I'm both a huge Prince and Rick James fan also so I post there from time to time but people don't bring up many interesting topics over there. Of course, there are only so many topics that can be discussed when you are dealing with only one artist and the same goes with Prince. I guess that's why I post more in the Music: Non-Prince forum than anywhere else. I think it could get very interesting over there also if they had a section for other artists like the org does.

When a good topic is posted over there, people have some very good and interesting points of view. Pyro John also keeps things interesting over there from time to time with good tour stories.

The video is great. It's a James Brown concert in a small venue ca 1984. JB calls up Micheal Jackson who dances a bit. Jacko whispers in JB's ear. JB announces Prince in the house. After a few calls, our reluctant hero arrives on Chuck's back. Does some wierd guitar sh*t and leaves. As he does does, he leans out over the crowd swing on a 15 ft pillar. The pillar is polystrene and not attached and both it and Prince start falling on the crowd ... and at this point my copy cuts out (downloaded from web - can't remember where)

I like Rick and Prince but, Rick was never on P's level. Everbody that was around when they toured said Prince just came out on stage and killed Rick.

Thing is, in his very last interview he did, Rick said he felt that Prince's problem "was he became to dam white". Rick James fans will support Rick, and if his views about Prince are that he aint feelin him, for whatever reason, theyll agree mayne.

Actually I started a thread on there myself called "Rick James' Influence On Prince". It is basically a carbon copy of a thread I started on the org a while ago, except with responses coming from Rick James fans rather than Prince fans.

It starts out by me explaining that I am a huge fan of both artists and asking everyone if they thought Prince may have started being controversial due to seeing Rick's behaviour on the tour they shared together. Naturally, everyone praised Rick more than Prince, that's understandable, it's a Rick James website and he is their favorite. I can say, however that not one person was disrespectful to me for being a Prince fan, even Mistermaxx (on my thread anyway).

I ran into people that didn't like Prince but they still admired him as an artist. I also ran into people that started out as Prince fans but left him because of his weird direction in music after "Purple Rain", which is understandable. I also ran into people, like myself that like both Rick James and Prince. Mista Irv was very intelligent.

Feel free to check it out. It's on page 2 of the threads and the thread is about midways down the page. When you open the thread, it is 3 pages long.

P.S.: This is where the thread is at the present. As people post, the thread moves further and further down and if someone places a new post in it, it moves to the front (just like the org). Keep that in mind if you don't see it right away.

If Rick had tried to strech and stayed away from drugs he could have been just has big as Prince. I find it odd the Rick would accuse P of trying to be white when he played with Neil Young and a Rock band called White Cane.
