Michael Jackson "Farewell My Summer Love"

I bought an old Michael Jackson album today, entitled "Farewell My Summer Love". It contains nine session recordings from 1972 and early 1973. It's on the Motown label and has a 1984 copyright. I never knew this particular release, existed. Does anyone else own this album?

Wow, I forgot all about that song. I don't have the album but I haven't even THOUGHT about that song since the 80's. Talk about a blast from the past. I remember hearing it for the first time and not being sure if it was a old song or a new one because he sounded younger but the song was brand new. I would love to hear it again. My goodness SecretO, what made you think of that song?
I am convinced Beyonce's career would not be where it is, if she had dark skin.

This happens to be one of my fave jackson albums. These songs were remixed. To hear the majority of these tracks in their 'original' state check Michael Jackson's Anthology from 1995.

Speaking of Michael Jackson....Carlos Santana is playing MJ's song "Smooth Criminal" on his current tour.Seems that Carlos really liked Alien Ant Farm's version,so he added it to his own setlist.

As for the song "Farewell My Summer Love",it was recorded in the 70s,but Motown actually released it as a single during the 'Thriller' days! I heard it on the radio in 1984.In the 80s,whenever Michael had a new record out,Motown would go back into their vaults and release old songs that he recorded when he was a Motown act.A similar thing happened in 1981,when Motown released the forgotten MJ song "One Day In Your Life".Originally recorded in 1975,it actually reached #44 on the R&B charts/#55 on the pop charts when it was issued in 1981.
