Does anyone remember this group?

ok, this is going way back to the mid to late 80's but there was a girl group that was put together as a "female new edition". they had an album, i know this because my sister used to own it but i can't remember their name. does anyone know who i'm talking about? i remember they even had a song where in the beginning they said "new edition, they're so fine".

does anyone have any info on these chicks?

We're going to need a bit more info. How many girls? Multi-racial? Which year(s) exactly?

Actually, I think the Gyrlz only had three members so maybe it's not them.

..."your sweetness...is my weakness..."

I have the 12" Maxi-single to that.

BTW - The Good Girls were doing that "sexy Catholic schoolgirl" look WAY before Britney.

That is a VERY VERY VERY hard album to find anywhere.
I remember "It's All Because of You" and "It's Over" got ots of radio airplay. And I think "Jam, Jam if You Can, Can" had a video.

Hey, I remember them. I have their second album Just Call Me when they had a more grown up look. They had a single called It Must Be Love that was pretty cool. I heard the lead or the one that resembles Vanity was in some straight to video movie with Treach.

They did, it was simply titled "Terri & Monica", they didn't have a group name or anything like that. I have the album on cassette somewhere. It came out around 93-94, and was pretty good. One of the singles off it was called "I've Been Waiting".

The cover is a maroonish tinted black and white photo of the two, sorta dressed like flappers.

Yes, Ex-Girlfriend were part of the Full Force family. I have their first CD with the top 10 R&B hit, "Why Can't You Come Home". They released a second album that flopped, but I never bought that one.

And actual Catholic girls were doing that sexy Catholic schoolgirl look way before The Good Girls. It's been done to death.

The Gyrlz never had a hit. They did indeed release a song called "If It's Games You're Playing". The only reason I know of this song is because Al B. Sure came to Video Soul to debut it. This was Al B. Sure's group and they even sang back up for him on tour. I went to see Al B. Sure concert multiple times back in the day because I was Al B. Sure crazy at the time...The Gyrlz opened the show and were booed like crazy, I actually felt bad for them because they were'nt given a chance. It was all about Al B. Sure and no one wanted to listen to an unknown act. If you can remember pieces of the video I can tell you for sure if it's the Gyrlz. Al was in the video and I remember it like it was yesterday. I'm picking my brain trying to figure out what group labeled themselves as the female New Edition.
Ohhh you keep saying stay the niiiiiiiiight
Just let me rock you 'til the morning liiiiiiight
It's cold outside
And much too late to driiiiiiiive
You know I need you baby
I'm so lost without your love
