best live british act ever

The best live performer ive ever heard is mick hucknell{Simpley red}.How many artists today sound just as good live as they do on record, not many, mabey George Micheal comes a close second, but now adays its all the look rather than the voice.Even if your not a fan of simpley reds kind of music you cant not appreciate his talent.can anyone think of any other great live british singers who even come close to these two?.

Yeah, I have to give Mick Hucknall his props. I saw him live years ago and he was note perfect and his band were damn tight. Coldplay, Radiohead and the Bee Gees were pretty dandy, too. I can't speak for George, tho'. I ain't ever seen him. About time he did another tour, me thinks. smile

I have to disagree with you realmusicfan. I was a big fan of Coxon and know he had a lot of influence on the band. However, I personally thought the show I saw from their Think Tank tour was THE best Blur performance of the 7 times I've seen them. Even better than their Glastonbury performance in 98. (Course, being knee deep in mud may have impacted my ability to enjoy THAT show, but whatevs)

there are a few notable bands I've never seen live (Smiths and Queen, for instance).

With that in mind here's my list:
Blur
David Bowie
The Charlatans
Primal Scream
Radiohead

I completely agree with you about Think Tank being their finest moment to date - and yes, the tour was great. I've seen them about eight times, starting around "Modern Life is Rubbish", and they've consistently improved every time.

SLF and U2 are Irish. Plus I hate the latter. Saw the former around the time of "Hanx". Great band.

But if you're talking great Irish bands, the finest I've ever seen were the mighty Thin Lizzy, followed a few leagues down by The Pogues. Both wiped the floor with Yoo-Two.

And yeah, forgot to mention The Jam, who were fucking incredible live. What happened to Paul Weller - all that early promise, and look at him now, doing fuck awful covers like he's a pissed up pub singer playing at an inbreeds wedding.
