I saw one slip by selling the Nirvana box set and every compilation of that insipid Now that's what I call Music CDs. It's happening more often with a lot of artist, don't know if it really has an affect but it can't hurt. Jeux Sans Frontiers

I've seen Beatles 1 sold on TV too.. makes sense to me when the artist is huge, and it is a concentrated redux of their most popular hits. Or if it's a large purchase (like a Box set), I don't see anything wrong with it.

I've seen it as well but that's only advertisment it's getting (but it was probably the 30 maybe 60 second commerical, though, not a full 30 min infomerrical).

I know that a lot of CDs advertise through that 800 number (the company that does this is Castlin or something like that). This is mostly done with greatest hits sets and CDs by older pop artists (Cher had a similar commerical for her latest hits set, which was a huge best seller).
