Adam Ant Manners & Physique

God help me, one of my first musical loves was Adam & The Ants!

Has anyone heard the Andre Cymone produced Manners & Physique?

He's a bit like Prince to me, though not nearly as good.

Has anyone heard the Andre Cymone produced Manners & Physique?

ha! I meant to edit, not quote myself!

I do remember that song vaguely. I'm as curious about Andre's work as Adam's, which I am pretty familiar with.

I only heard the singles "Room At The Top" and "Can't Set Rules About Love". It's definitely a far cry from his Dandy Highwayman days. lol

Yeah, the first record Dirk Wears White Sox is actually pretty good to me still, as is much of Kings of the Wild Frontier. But I left off with Strip, which had a couple catchy moments, at best.

I recently got this album last year in a junk shop. I really like a couple of the tracks. Andre seems to produce most of it, whilst adam still provides the rather off the wall lyrics.

If u have heard Jody Watleys "larger then life" album, then it sounds like a poppy version of that. It is heavy on the drum programming.....

I like "room at the top" "can't set rules about love" (my fav) "manners and physique" best. The rest is pretty average filler.....worth it cheap though definately!

It's sort of a gimmick, but it definitely gave him a sound. They definitely used two drummers when I saw them live in about 1981 (my first concert ever).

The early albums have some crap, but they also have some interesting stuff. In a few tracks I hear stuff that actually reminds me of what Nirvana did 10 years later.

Oh my god! I bought Manners & Physique for $3.00. On first listen it sounds like possibly one of the worst records I've ever heard. If Adam is even there he's hidden in the ridiculously cliche 80's production. I can't blame it all on Andre, though, Adam wrote the songs and went through with recording them.
