Alexander is married and off Cocaine. He has been releasing stuff on a indie label in England. The last album that he relased was in 2002. As for Cherelle, I haven't heard much on her.

She's working on a new album according to the latest news. She's teaming up with Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis again biggrin. Here's a link to what I've found:

Cherrelle toured with Alex also last year in Las Vegas and couple other places. When I was out there last year they were according to the radio.

mariah did a nice tribute to them "Want You" fet. Eric Benet (on Glitter). I would have loved 2 hear that done by Alex and Cherrelle, back 2 the 80's on that one.

A great duo...

I am not taína. Taíno is in me, but there is no way back.
I am not european. Europe lives in me, but I have no home there.
I am new. History made me. My first language was spanglish.

Born Cheryl Week Norton in 1958, the budding singer met bassist/singer Michael Henderson when her family moved to Detroit. He invited young Cheryl to the studio, where she would spent time in the evenings after punching out of work at a bank. Imitating the way her boss would angrily yell “Cherrrr-rellle” when she was late for work, she decided to keep the pronunciation – as Cherrelle.

biggrin classic!!

"criticise" is fucking classic.

"fake" is a good jam too.

Remember that christmas album Alex did?

I sorta think once Jimmy and Terry found Johnny Gill solo wise, Alex became their second priority. Appparantly he was alot bigger in UK then US. "cirticise" wnet top 10 in uk!

Remember the video to Cherrelle's "I Didn't Mean to Turn You On"? (Fay Wray/King Kong thing.) Loved the song.

Loved Alexander O'Neal's fake, too! "You said, "I got it cut, but I don't see no hair on the floor." Classic! lol

There's a short article on him in the Nov. 2004 issue of VIBE. He says:
Prince and I have a good relationship. I have nothing but the utmost respect for him. I just wasn't one to be controlled." What's with Prince allegedly saying that Alexander was "too black?"

Alexander O'Neal was supposed to appear in gospel stage plays here twice but both times someone replaced him.
Andy is a four letter word.
