Sweet Obsession!

A couple of months ago I was asking questions about this girl group from the 80's and someone was kind of enough to respond. Sorry to be a pain but if you know the track listing for their self titled cd, the one with "gonna get over you" can you please send it, along with a description of the cd? I basically wanna know how many fast and slow tracks there are. many thanks!

That was a remake of the far superior original by Tanaa Gardner. And that was Sweet Sensation. I'm not familiar with Sweet Obsession (unless that's who Dancerella's referring to).

you're almost right but the group that covered heartbeat was seduction, not sweet sensation.

Sweet Sensation were a female freestyle group that had hits with "Sincerely Yours," "Hooked On You," "Love Child" (yes, a remake) and "If Wishes Came True" which was a number one hit in the U.S.

Seduction was another dance trio of women created by C+C Music Factory. Their hits included "Two To Make It Right," "Could This Be Love" and the aforemention remake of "Heartbeat." Member Idalis Leon later was briefly a VJ for MTV. Member Michelle Visage went on to become co-host of RuPaul's talk show on VH1. There is currently a new single by Seduction circulating in clubs. I don't know if any of the original members are featured in the current incarnation.

I remember this group! Their first single "Gonna Get Over You" wasn't half-bad.It's a shame that they had to follow it up with the absurd second single "Cash Money"...

"You might be cute,or you might be "funny"
But all that doesn't matter if you haven't got the money"

disbelief lol

No problem, always willing to assist when it comes to music biggrin. I have to be honest, I'm not sure, it's been awhile since I've heard their music. You should be able to find it at a reasonable price on amazon.com or ebay.

Seduction sang "It Takes Two". I have that Cd so I know for fact it's them. The group was put together by Robert Clivilles and David Cole of C& C Music Factory fame. Idalis (former MTV "VJ" was a member),

I used to have their CD, but sold it on ebay last year. I only used to listen to the 12" singles anyway (which I still have). The one album track I kind of miss is "One Mistake." There's an instrumental remix of it on the "Breakdown" 12", but it's not the same without the vocals.

Speaking of "without the vocals", the girls' voices were replaced by an uncredited Martha Wash on the house mix of "(You're My One And Only) True Love". She got no respect back then.

It's out of print now. You may be able to get a used copy on ebay for $20. I think that's around what someone paid for mine--between $10 and $20.

I don't remember them or that song at all. I need to see if Musicmatch has them. I have all the other dancey girl group cds from the late 80's.
