Fav Frank Zappa track and why? We haven't had much in the way of Zappa talk round here of late, so I thought I would 'raise the tone' a little and invoke the name of Uncle Frank.
A challenge this one, I think. Choose your ONE favourate or best Zappa track. Or your three best or five if you can't narrow it down that far. I could have chosen 'Camarillo Brillo', 'The Muffin Man', 'Revised Music For Guitar and Low-Budget Orchestra', or 'RDNZL, even 'Pedro's Dowry'. (Yes, I love the 'Lather' album) I nearly chose 'Zomby Woof', but in the end it had to be ... 'Filthy Habits' - Awesome guitar, music unlike anything before or since. This has to have the darkest, dirtiest sounding guitar ever. And that fantastic 'Oriental' feel most of Zappa's best guitar tracks have. Over to you!

my favorite is probably (i think this is the title) "return of monster magnet" from "freak out" - the really long sound collage at the end of the album with the "i remember, doop-doop, they had a SWIMMING POOOOL" singing in it.
but as just plain ol' songs go, probably "dumb all over" or "broken hearts are for assholes" would be my faves...though i like "you are what you is" a lot, too.
