So, who exactly ARE the best rap duo ever?

Run DMC?

Salt n Pepa?

Outkast?

EPMD?

8ball & MJG?

Kid N Play?

Das EFX?

hmmm Any others you want to mention? Cool, but we're talking about duo in the sense of delivering the vocal one-two punch, not necessarily a group with only two members. thumbs up!

I didn't know Eric B. ever rapped.

Based it on the fact that they were considered a "duo".

Run DMC -- They were groundbreakers and they gave hip hop the commercial credibility and success that it has today. Their lyrics were a tad elementary and non-complex as say Rakim (who completely changed the game), but you can't negate the fact that all emcees are indebted to these guys.

That's cool.

Although Outkast is my all-time favorite rap group, they always spit their voices solo. As far as the good ol' fshioned one-two punch, I'ma go with EPMD! dancing jig

Boogie Down Productions was an incredible rap duo as well. They churned out CLASSIC albums: Criminal Minded, By All Means Necesary, Ghetto Music: The Blueprint... and [b]Edutainment[/i]. Of course, their debut is the shining jewel. They were a duo up until DJ Scott La Rock's tragic murder (and their numbers fluctuated shortly following), but their music still lives on today (and has insatiable staying power). KRS-One is an undenibaly powerful lyricist and orator -- regardless of whatever political ramblings the guy spews today -- you cannot deny the man's style and delivery. Scott La Rock didn't have much mic time, but we all loved "Super Hoe"(!!!) BDP ranks in the upper echelon with Run-DMC, in my opinion.

OK.

After my last faux pas, might as well throw some more sh*t in the game.

What about...

...3rd Bass?

(Obviously not the best, just curious as to what reaction they might bring.)

Actually, now that I think of it hmm Greg Nice's delay chamber on the end of his lines is rather reminiscent of DMC.

My favorite song by Nice & Smooth is "No Delayin'" which samples our little man's own "Starfish And Coffee".

lol, maaaaan.. ok uknow Serch ghost wrote pete's lines right?.. cus Pete was just "there" with that cigar in his mouth lookin like a younger version of Al ( grandpa) Lewis from the munsters n shit..

Pete did some dumb shit, at Kennedy u know that cane he always had?... he tried to get through the airport with that. and it had a blade in it, now his lil episode caused a flight delay of a tour. Pete thought he was to good for 3rd bass and quit.. and into the land of Misfit Mc's he goes.Def Jam loast some loot over the last 3rd bass album "derelichts of Dialect" i know... i had to do the cycle counts on that shit.
