Hawksley Workman

Anybody else a fan? He's only four albums in, but this man IMO is on a level with the rare few...our man Prince for one, and also Bowie. If your a Hawksley fan, I'd love to read your post.

I like Hawksley Workman wavewoot!
Great voice, great songs, i like the fantasy in his lyrics. He's a colourful person: he does it his own way, sometimes over the top, but always very passionate.
I heard of him the first time when 'Jealous of your cigarette' was released as a single and played on a local radiostation (studio Brussel, Belgium). I just love the song. I bought all his albums at the time: 'For him and the girls' and 'Last night, we were the delicious wolves'. Shortly after he gave a concert in Brussels, a sublime concert! He's singing, dancing, tapdancing, telling stories... just great!

I didn't hear much of him the last years, I should go buy his recent albums.

Yes, well he put out a Christmas album of sorts called "Almost a Full Moon", which consists of all originals that mostly just mention Christmas in passing. One song, "Claire Fontaine", is a witty pop ode to a Canadian paper company.
His last album, "Lover/Fighter" is much more commercial, although worth it just for the two hidden tracks. And there is a live dvd called "live in Lille".

Oh, and I have a question. Can Isadora possibly be your real name, or is that a Hawksley reference? wink
