70s rock album of the day: 'Book Of Dreams' by the Steve Miller Band (1977)
In 1977,Steve Miller released the most impressive album of his career,'Book Of Dreams'.There isn't a song here that I don't like. There are some superb uptempo rock numbers like "Jet Airliner","Swingtown" and "Jungle Love".There are also some incredible, haunting ballads like "Sacrifice","Wish Upon A Star" and "Winter Time".Another highlight is the bluesy rock of "The Stake". I also liked their previous album 'Fly Like An Eagle'(1976) but I think 'Book Of Dreams' is a stronger, more consistent album with no filler. | |
