Res she's taking too long to make a sophomore album. if you want to get in the game you have to be prolific early on. 4 years between albums makes people think, well, you fell off the flat end of the earth.

Digable Planets (I really miss this crew) rumor has it they're reuniting in '05. we'll see.

Camp Lo they released an album 2 years ago that wasn't nearly as good as Uptown Sat. Night. they got dropped way too early.

Terence Trent d'arby's hardly disappeared off the face of the earth. He's been making plenty of great music since Wishing Well people, how many diehard TTD/Sananda fans have to point that out before everyone realizes it lol

I don't think any of these artists have literally fallen off the face of the earth, but in the figurative sense, Sananda is a top contender.

And Talking Heads too. sad

I think "around for a long time" should be defined because I thought Talking Heads were around for good bit of time before David Byrne left the group. It must have been about ten years between "Psycho Killer" and "Wild Wild Life".

Yeah, you're right. But I figured if they hadn't been too involved with their solo careers I could see them being around maybe even today. shrug

nod Amen to that! she still performs ocassionally, and I know she showed up on Van Hunt's CD ( he used to be in her band), but damn! an album 's been due for far too long...she was supposedly going to release new music independently, but that was said about 6 years ago....and so far, nothing....

Have you listened to Beth Gibbons' collaboration with Rustinman on the Out Of Season album? You might like it; it's rather haunting as you may expect. I'm sure Beth and Andy will continue to make music if not, unfortunately, together.

Yeah, the Doors still tour, but it doesn't count, either.

When Shanice Wilson released her 1st cd I thought she had stayin' power. By the time she released her 2nd cd I knew I was wrong.
I also hoped that Kiara, Chuckii Booker, Robert Brookins & Miki Howard would've stayed a lil while longer.
