But I love the Hammer best. It is because of the running man and all the things hammer does with it. Unlike say the fly girls off "in living color" tv show who's dancing was good but rather devoid of any real force. Hammer had the force, energy and sheer agression which made him a dancer worth watching, depsite his limited moves.

Janet with them? I love gene Kelly. Way prefer him over Fred Astaire. Gene makes so many ccool innovative moves. Fred s technically flawless, but still dull to watch! Gene is exciting.

i soo am not dissing them...i think they are great at what they do but the only "dance" performance i will give madonna credit for is her Vogue VMA performance..but thats was more about showmanship then actual dancing...that was about the costumes and twelve dancers on stage with her..it worked as a performance piece but not dance..and her concerts, well..blond ambition and girly show were excellent i look at them for their theatrics and not the dance...all though there were moments of brilliance....

Good points. Unfortunately janet's tours r very so-so. Just like the music video really. U seen a Hammer show? He used to have a zillion dancing Hammers on stage. That was maybe just one (of many) things that eventually made him go bankcraupt. Too expensive u see.....

It's like when he's dancing all the anger, the happiness, the excitement all the feelings reflect on his movements.

that ending part of Black Or White video, is GENIUS. the anger, and that it is without music, unbelievable.

I cannot believe people actually dis MJ's dancing. I guess you all have never seen his take on the robot during a 1970's performance of Dancing Machine. That performance alone trumps everything that was mentioned in this thread. Janet Jackson is completely choreographed along with most of the other names that have been mentioned. MJ has something that cannot be taught; I agree with the late Michael Peters assessment on the Making of Thriller Vid. Peters stated that MJ was able to pick up the routine faster and with more precision that the professional dancers that had been hired to appear in the vid. Most importantly the brotha knows how to improvise. I only put James Brown ahead of Michael Jackson. MJ has his issues, but his dancing skills are sheer Genius.
