funny this thread started. i was just listening to Introspective today, and thinking what a great album it would have been had the shorter versions of the tracks been used, and then adding tracks like Don Juan, Do I Have To, I Get Excited, One of the Crowd, etc.. and making it a proper album. i think i'll burn a copy of that....

I agree. I never understood that terrible dub of "Always On My Mind". "I Get Excited" is great.

It was a really good one but they decided not to put it on "PopArt" (the reason being it was a double A-side in the UK with the more popular "Where the Streets Have No Name"). The video mix is even better. And the video is pretty funny. The "PopArt" DVD is great, especially the commentary.

Really? "Home And Dry" has only become a recen favorite. Glad you like it. I never really did give the full "Release" album much of a listen but love the bonus disc (which is where I heard their "Break 4 Love").

Yeah, i love I Get Excited. It could have easily been a single. I don't know what they were thinking releasing Domino Dancing as the 1st single from this album (well, technically I guess Always On My Mind, but it came out way, way, way before the album's release). I really think Domino Dancing sabotaged any chance of future Top 40 success in the US for the PSB.

Left to My Own Devices (full version)
I Want a Dog
I Get Excited (You Get Excited Too)
Domino Dancing (single version)
Your Funny Uncle

I'm Not Scared (full version)
One of the Crowd
Always on my Mind (single version)
Don Juan
Nothing Has Been Proved
It's Alright

I think "Domonio Dancing" is great, though and am surprised that it wasn't a hit in the US. I probably like it better (in any form) than I get excited. However, that tracklisting for the album is great but many people think "Introspective", in it's present form, is their best album. I don't understand that.

Yeah, maybe it's a US/Europe thing. "Domino Dancing" is one of my least favorite songs of theirs ever. There's no great hook, either musically or lyrically -- it's kind of generic, especially coming from them.

No argument there. I don't know if I can pick 10 fave songs by these guys. I guess my favorites would be West End Girls, What Have I Done To Deserve This, Oppurtunities, and New York City Boys.

I have their Discography project, but I'm at best a casual fan. IMO, only three songs that I've heard so far stand up to repeated listens:

-"West End Girls" (still by far my favorite)
-"What Have I Done To Deserve This?"
-"Domino Dancing"
