I know how Janet Jackson fans get, so give me what you got--I don't care.

But that bitch's voice is as weak as New Power Soul was boring.
There isn't one track that I have EVER heard by Janet that didn't sound like
it was being sung by an amatuer.

About the only thing any of her albums have going for her is that some
of the songs sound very well chosen, and the production always sound
terrific--but then again, the production would have to be spot
on to cover up that dry, lifeless, ineffective singing voice.

But I'm also a fan of Janet Jackson, Bebel Gilberto,or Sade's "smoother" style. In fact, I think that Janet sings the heck out of Island Life from Damita Jo. And one the her more sensitive interpretations and performances would be God's Stepchild. She makes my cry on that one. Also, I have become increasingly impressed with her vocal performance and diction in Trust a Try. I think that there is room for appreciation for everyone.

Janet never really did have a SANGIN voice, but she is good at what she does and I cant see no one else who can sing doing those Jimmy & Terry songs more justice than her. Christina wouldnt have been able to sing well a song like "Pleasure Principle" "The Knowledge" "Anytime Anyplace" I just cant see no one who really can BLOW cover those songs without over-doing it, or killing the fuel Janet's airy voice does. Just like Aaliyah & Brandy situation. Aaliyah sounds PERFECT over Timbaland's beats...Brandy sounds out of place even though she can sing more than Aaliyah would.
